This Is How Botox impacts Your Body

Wrinkles are like hiccups, inevitable and annoying. There is a long term solution for wrinkles. With the advances in science and technology, it is now possible to look young with the help of botox. Botox is basically a neurotoxin that is safe and is given by a professional. It has proven to be highly successful and valuable when you consider the frequency of treatment, dosage, and variety. When it is done right, botox will give you excellent results.

Botox comes in a powder form which is diluted with saline so as to make it injectable. Through the saline, you are also watering it down and taking out any negative capabilities. Hence, you are safe. This chemical will kick into action by blocking the transmission of nerves in the nearby muscles and will effectively freeze the area. When the injection moves from the dermis and in the desired muscle, the nerves will be blocked by botox. Hence, the brain might give a signal to the body to move a muscle but botox will block that signal and will keep the muscle from moving. Dr. Forrest Wall from Wall Plastic Surgery explains that Botox is usually injected in the forehead between the eyes, relaxing the muscles and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Botox will stay only where it is injected and does not roam through the body. Hence, if you inject it in your face, it is not going to work for your hands. The maximum it can migrate is up to 3 cm from where it was injected.

Will I feel anything?

You will feel the injection being injected in your body and the site could swell or turn red. If the doctor is careful, there will be no swelling or bruises at the site. You can resume your daily activities immediately after the completion of the procedure. There could be minor swelling because Botox is diluted into saline but the bump will mostly go away in an hour. Do not rub the treated areas because it can lead the toxin to migrate. Simply let it be.

When will I see the results?

You will notice smooth skin within a few days. Botox can inactivate the muscle and it will stop pulling on the skin. This will reduce animation. It will prevent any future wrinkles from forming. Once it is in your body, it is in for about four months after which it dissipates and you will need the treatment again. After the protein ends functioning at the neuromuscular junction, it will break down into harmless components and will be used in other proteins or will be excreted. The smaller the muscle, the effect will last for longer.

Botox can also be used to treat many other conditions like muscle disorders, migraines, and bowel disorders. Whether you use it for beauty or for other conditions, botox is safe for your body and the right doctor will ensure that you see results without any side-effects.
