Getting in shape is one of the best ways to overhaul your image. Luckily there are many ways you can do this. You could go to a fitness class, join a gym or search for personal trainers in your city. Ultimately, you need to make changes which you know you can stick to and will make you feel great on the outside and, more importantly, on the inside.

Small changes are the best way to start because you are much more likely to incorporate these into your new lifestyle and maintain them.

There are many different ways to improve your general health and fitness. Below are just a few suggestions to kick-start the path to a new you.

  • Healthy diet. You can still enjoy your favourite treats and snacks, but make sure you do this in moderation. Stay hydrated by drinking at least 2 litres of water per day and try to eat a balanced diet of lean meats, vegetables, low fat dairy, nuts and fruit.
  • If you don’t already, start exercising. It doesn’t matter if it’s once a week or once a day so long as you’re doing it in accordance of your current fitness levels and pushing yourself when possible. If possible, invest in a personal trainer to get the best results.
  • Make sure you take up exercise you enjoy. There’s no point spending a fortune joining a gym if you hate it. There are many forms of exercise that could become an enjoyable part of your life like dancing, yoga or a brisk walk with the dog for example. Exercise doesn’t need to be expensive, many everyday items can be used as part of your workouts, even a sweaty cleaning session will burn those calories!

You may be very surprised at how good you will feel once you have your health and fitness regime in place and start seeing results. Getting fit and healthy will lift your spirits and confidence; boost your energy levels as well as improving your mood and much more.

This may only just be the start of your image overhaul, but it is a step in the right direction nonetheless. Once you are happy and have completed the first step, you can then decide which other aspects you would like to change or improve to give yourself the look you have always craved.
