Turmeric has been used for centuries in Asian cuisines particularly in India. This spice belongs to the ginger family and other than making curry, it is also used for dyeing and coloring. Turmeric is also use to promote skin health and keep your body away from any illness. Here are some benefits of turmeric for your skin.

Turmeric can slows down the signs of aging because of its ability to exfoliate. Combine gram flour and turmeric and mix it with water until it becomes a paste. You can even add milk or yogurt for extra benefit. Apply it on your body and let it stay on your skin until it is dry. Rinse with warm water in circular motion to remove those dead skin cells.

Acne

Pimples and acne are result of bacteria on skin and turmeric is used as antiseptic centuries ago in different cultures in Asia. Its anti-bacterial properties make it great for skin problem such as acne.

Make a face mask by mixing lemon juice and turmeric powder until it forms. Put it on your face. Turmeric also reduces production of oil on your skin which makes it perfect for those who are suffering from oily skin.

If you are suffering from skin pigmentation, you can use turmeric to reduce uneven pigmentation on your skin. This spice can lighten dark spots and can be found in whitening products.
