How to Get Rid of Cellulite

Cellulite is one of the biggest problems that women can have, because it does not easily go away even with diet and exercise. Cellulite refers to body fats that are stored near the surface of the skin, and it is rather unsightly because it gives a dimpled “cottage cheese” appearance. Cellulite is typically stored in thighs, hips, abdomen and arms. The predisposition to cellulite is inherited, and the sad part is that it affects about 7 out of 10 women. Even thin individuals can have cellulite. Luckily, there are some things that you can do to get rid of cellulite.

  1. Get enough sleep. Cellulite is fat—there is no other way to describe it. It occurs because the skin proteins are not firm enough. You can help improve your skin’s elasticity and firmness if you get the required number of sleep hours consistently. Sleep repairs and rejuvenates your skin at the cellular level, plus it helps you prevent weight loss.
  2. Drink lots of water. While drinking water won’t magically flush your cellulite away, it can aid in clearing out toxins from the body and can make cellulite appear less pronounced.
  3. Use cellulite creams. Cellulite does not really respond that well to exercises but cellulite creams can help dissolve these fat deposits. Choose a cellulite cream that has gotten good reviews and testimonials for effectiveness.
  4. Get massages and brush your skin regularly. Skin brushing and massages stimulates circulation in the areas where cellulite is deposited. This makes blood and lymph fluid less likely to pool. If you are using a cellulite cream, massages and skin brushing will also enhance its effectiveness. Using it along with anal bleaching creams is completely safe.
  5. Eat healthy. To some extent, cellulite is aggravated by consuming foods that are high in salt and fat. Consume as little of this as possible.
  6. Hit the spa. Some spa treatments that are designed especially for cellulite are body wraps and ultrasonic massages. The heat generated by a body wrap is supposed to soften cellulite so that it can be flushed out of your body. Ultrasonic massages use the same principle but more effectively.
  7. Enhance your skin’s firmness. While you can’t totally get rid of cellulite, you can make it less visible if you work on improving the firmness of your skin. By doing this, your skin will be less prone to dimpling. Some proven methods that boost skin elasticity would include taking supplements for collagen production and vitamin C and E.

To be honest, it is rather hard to get rid of cellulite once it appears, although you can do it if you are patient and determined enough. A good way to know if you will have cellulite (if you haven’t already) is to see if your mother or aunt has it—if they do, then you will likely have it too, especially as you grown older and your skin becomes less supple. If this is the case, it is a good idea to get started on cellulite prevention as early as you can.

Aside from the tips enumerated above, there are also other things that could help prevent existing cellulite to get worse. For instance, avoid diuretics, or liquids that can encourage you to lose hydration from your body. When your skin and your body don’t get enough moisture, the dimply appearance of cellulite becomes more exaggerated.

While wearing girdles and tight stockings help give your skin a firmer appearance, this is bad in the long run. The impaired circulation in cellulite-riddled body parts will encourage the pooling of fat, making it look more noticeable.
