Habits That Makes Your Skin Look Old
We all want to look younger than our age and caring for our skin at an early age is a must if you wish to grow old gracefully. There are habits that can accelerate your skin aging and makes you look older than your age.
Smoking
Smoker and second hand smoker have more wrinkles and dryness due to the nicotine that constrict blood vessels and capillaries. It also reduces vitamin C in the body which is responsible in making skin supple and smooth.
Lack Sleep
If you ask any guru of skin care, sleep is an important part of the body because it is the time for the skin cells and other organs replenish, detoxify and recover from the day’s stresses. If you lack at least 7 hours of sleep, you are putting your body under further stress thus affecting its normal function.
Dark circles, puffy eyes, dull skin and acne breakouts are common among those who are experiencing prolong lack of sleep. It also weakens your immune system exposing you to variety of skin diseases.
Lack of Water
Dehydration makes the skin look dull and dry. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily is necessary in order to flush out unwanted toxins and waste products. Other than water, you can increase your fluid intake with fruits and fresh juices. Hydration will make your skin more supple and withstand the harsh environment.
Too Much Sun Exposure
Summer is the best time to flaunt your skin and enjoy the beach. However, without proper protection you are exposing your skin to damages and early skin aging. Always protect your skin with sunscreen at least SPF 15 for ordinary days. If you are going to the beach, opt for higher protection. You can also use scarf or hat as protection. Too much sun exposure without any protection can lead to skin cancers and wrinkles.
Establishing the right habits for skin care especially among teens is important. The earlier you care for your skin, the more it will withstand skin aging. Eliminate the old bad habits and replace it with these new healthy skin routines.
