The Diet Plan for Successful Employers and Employees: the General Motors Diet

The GM Diet, developed in 1995 by the GM Corporation, expresses the GM’s management intention to facilitate a welfare and fitness program for every employee.


This gm diet program was designed to help the employees lose up to of 12-14 lbs per week.gm_diet

To get into the General Motor shape, try the following gm diet plan (90 % vegetarian):

GM diet Day 1

1)      BREAKFAST: 1 cup of diced apples

2)      SNACK: 1 bowl raw papaya

3)      LUNCH: 1 bowl of watermelon or muskmelon

4)      AFTERNOON SNACK: 1 orange/sweet lime/chico fruit

5)      EVENING: 1 glass coconut water

6)      DINNER: 1 bowl of melon

GM diet Day 2

1)      BREAKFAST: 1 cup boiled potato

2)      MID MORNING: 1 bowl of cabbage or red lettuce (raw)

3)      LUNCH: 1 cucumber, 1 tomato and ½ boiled beet

4)      AFTERNOON: 2 tomatoes or 1 cup cherry tomatoes

5)      DINNER: Boiled broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus with salt and spices.

GM diet Day 3

1)      BREAKFAST: 1 apple or 1 cup of diced melon

2)      MID MORNING: 1 bowl of cantaloupe mixed with papaya

3)      LUNCH: 1 bowl of mixed cucumber, lettuce and tomato with ½ boiled beet

4)      AFTERNOON: 1 orange or ripe mango

5)      DINNER: 1 bowl of boiled broccoli, fresh greens and raw papaya

GM  diet Day 4

1)      BREAKFAST: 1/2 glass skimmed milk and 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

2)      MID-MORNING: One banana+ 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

3)      LUNCH: One glass skimmed milk without sugar + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

4)      TEA TIME: One banana + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water)

5)       EVENING: One banana

6)      DINNER: I/2 glass skimmed milk without sugar

GM diet Day 5

1) BREAKFAST: One bowl pressure-cooked brown rice+ 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

2) MID-MORNING: Two tomatoes+ 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

3) LUNCH: One bowl brown rice cooked in tomato gravy + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

4) TEA: Two tomatoes, can add salt & jeera + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

5) EVENING: One glass of water with lemon & salt

6) DINNER: Boiled brown rice, can add salt & other spices + water

In the 5-th day of the diet, people who eat meat, can have boiled beef, instead of the boiled brown rice- up to 20 ounces of beef.

GM diet Day 6

1) BREAKFAST: One bowl pressure-cooked brown rice+ 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

2) MID-MORNING: Two tomatoes+ 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

3) LUNCH: One bowl brown rice cooked with other vegetables + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

4) TEA: Two cucumbers, can add salt & jeera + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

5) EVENING: One glass of water with lemon and salt.

6) DINNER: Boiled beet + Cucumber + Carrot + Tomatoes + Raw cabbage, can add salt andother spices + water.

In the 6-th day of the diet, people who eat meat, can replace the boiled brown rice with 20 ounces of lean beef.

GM diet Day 7

1) BREAKFAST: One bowl pressure-cooked brown rice+ 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

2) MID-MORNING: Two tomatoes + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

3) LUNCH: One bowl brown rice cooked with other vegetables + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

4) TEA: Two cucumbers, can add salt and jeera + 1 to 1-1/2 glasses of water

5) EVENING: One glass of sweet lime juice without straining & sugar

6) DINNER: Boiled beetroot + Cucumber + Carrot + Tomatoes + Raw cabbage, can add salt and other spices + water.

To “enrich” your diet, the GM WONDER Soup can be eaten at any time of the day in “unlimited quantities”. The ingredients for the GM WONDER Soup are:

  • 23 oz water
  •   6 large onions
  •   2 green peppers
  •   3 whole tomatoes
  •   1 cabbage
  •   1 bunch celery
  •    herbs and seasoning as desired.
