Following the retirement of Ophthalmologist Eugene Wolchok, MD, who established the practice about fifty years ago, his son, Stephen Wolchok, MD, took over as the currently practicing physician. Dr. Wolchok attained his Bachelor of Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, in 1996. Following his graduation, he proceeded to the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. He completed his surgical internship at Emory University School of Medicine before finalizing his medical training with an ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
In 2008, Dr. Wolchok was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology as a diplomat. He is also a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
