Benefits of Raw Potato Juice
In traditional medicine, the juice of potato has long been used against gastritis, ulcers, arthritis and other diseases. Now scientists are discovered that it was actually healing. Here’s why …
Recent studies conducted at the University of Manchester found that potato juice (made from raw potatoes) contains some special molecules that act antibacterial, especially against helicobacter, which is considered of causing ulcers.
Molecules from potatoes could prevent the harmful effects of bacteria that live in the stomach, say scientists. Unlike antibiotics, bacteria can not develop resistance to potato juice and it does not cause any unwanted side effects. Scientists hope that the “juice” will soon be used as a supplement to the daily diet and help many people who suffer from ulcers.
Potato juice will not only be able to heal, but also serve to prevent the development of these bacteria, which multiply excessively underlying gastritis and ulcers. Researchers hope the juice-based supplement developed from potato could be taken preventively to prevent gastritis and ulcer.
Better than supplements …
Of course, if we think logically, why would we develop supplements, if we can squeeze juice from fresh potatoes? In fact, as part of traditional medicine, the daily consumption of potato juice is recommended. The recipe is as follows: pour a glass of freshly squeezed juice of potatoes up to 5 cm and dilute it with warm water to fill the cup. It should be drunk in the morning on an empty stomach.
It is important to drink this juice immediately after squeezing, because the juice quickly oxidizes and loses much of its healing properties.
In traditional medicine, the juice of potatoes is not used only for the prevention and treatment of ulcers, but also in case of constipation, hemorrhoids and gallstones. Potato juice soothes and heals mucus in the digestive organs, acts as a diuretic and helps to soften the intestinal contents. And not only that – the juice of potato has also beneficial effect against arthritis.
Juice of red potatoes contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, mineral salts and vitamins B1, B6, C and K. Starch from the potato acts anti-inflammatory in diseases of the digestive organs, as well as in cases of minor poisoning with toxic substances.
